Miguel
Miguel O'Hara was born in Nueva York in the 2070s to George and Conchata O'Hara. Nueva York is (as most places are) a corporate city, and in this case, the major corporation is Alchemax. Miguel was scouted into one of their schools for geniuses at an early age, and grew up both a bit spoiled and a bit imprisoned by them.
By his twenties, he's heading special projects for the corporation, and they want to keep himhappy. They also want results. So when Miguel insists his machine to rewrite DNA to make super-soldierscorporate raiders isn't ready, they find a convict for him to test it on and insist he do it. It goes terribly wrong, the guy dies horribly, and Miguel quits.
Except that when he does, his boss gives him a drink, and laces it with a powerful drug called Rapture that binds to a subject's DNA and is instantly addictive - and Alchemax is the only legal source for it.
Not about to stand for that, Miguel breaks into his lab after hours and sets the machine to write his own prior-to-Rapture DNA (used as a control source in his experiments) over his current DNA. Unfortunately, he pissed off a guy who sees him and starts pressing random buttons. Miguel ends up half his old self and half spider.
So, now he's still pissed off at Alchemax, but now he has the means to fight back. Which he does, just up until someone else's experiment ends up opening a portal to another dimension and pulling through a Big Nasty and the people chasing him, the Exiles. Miguel ends up joining them in the fight, and consequently getting unmasked before the world.
To avoid the consequences of that, to help out other dimensions, and to learn more about all the things, Miguel joins the Exiles. After bopping around a bit, saving a number of worlds, making friends, and getting brainwashed by Susan Storm, Lady Hydra (as you do), Miguel says enough for a while, and heads off to Fandom for a bit of vacation.
So, Fandom will be getting a slightly shell-shocked, insanely curious, somewhat grumpy, Mexican-Irish Spider-man.
He's late twenties, brown hair, red eyes, fit but not overly muscular. Folks who are likely to notice will see he doesn't smell entirely human, has fangs, and his forearms look...odd. He wears sunglasses outside and anywhere bright inside. He's not afraid of being thought of as a poseur because of it.
He probably has resting bitch face.
Powers and Abilities
Spider-based stuff:
- Strength: Has been known to lift up to 10 tons and jump at least 30 feet.
- Speed: Not explicitly defined, but he's superhumanly fast. As in, so fast that he can leave behind the image of a body double for enemies to attack.
- Agility, balance, and reflexes: Not defined, but much better than a standard human.
- Stamina: Can work out/fight for several hours without getting tired.
- Endurance, durability, and healing: He once fell off a skyscraper, shrugged it off, and walked to the hospital. He can withstand a lot more than most people, and heals faster (not like, say, Wolverine, but faster than a normal human). He ages more slowly because of it.
- Vision: He sees much better than a normal human: at much greater distances, with better precision, even in near complete darkness. He can also see things that move too fast for a human.
- Venom: He'spoisonousvenomous. He has fangs. His venom is a temporary paralytic.
- Talons: He's got razor-sharp talons on his fingers and toes. They're strong enough to support his weight, and strong enough to slice through buildings, armor,comics panels and people. (They're retractable, fortunately.)
- Spinnerets: His forearms have spinnerets that let him spin webs chemically identical to real spider silk, but strong enough to stop buildings falling.
Other Abilities
Miguel is technically Dr. Miguel O'Hara; he's got at least one PhD. He's a gifted geneticist and engineer, and at least one version of him has actually hacked Tony Stark's systems. (Also Dr. Doom's and Reed Richards', but heck, Reed probably uses his birthday as his password, and Doom probably...uses Reed's birthday as his password, LBR.) An older version of him wielded Mjolnir.
Miguel is also a smart ass (is that a power?)
Weaknesses
That great eyesight? He's sensitive to light. He keeps the light in his place down to about one-quarter normal. Also, he has fangs - he's learned to speak so they're not visible, but that means he gets accused of mumbling sometimes. It's habit. Also, he's got a temper and can be impulsive. And he's got an ego, though he's mostly learned to rein it in.
Equipment
His spider uniform is the only thing he owned made of unstable molecules that wouldn't be shredded by his talons - an old Dia de los Muertos spider costume. He's attached an airfoil with low-level antigrav to it so he can soar a bit.
He's got a communicator to keep in touch with his team back home.
